10 Best Songs For Your Road Trips

Without a killer soundtrack, your road trip is not going to be all that amazing. You can anticipate reaching a certain destination all you want, but the real magic happens during the journey when there is uninterrupted music playing in the background, and you feel like you’re starring in a music video. But it’s no fun when half the time you are thinking about what song to play next while keeping everybody’s music taste in mind.  To save you from all that trouble, I have compiled a list of pop, rock, and desi tunes that will make your expedition extraordinary.

Hymn for the weekend-Coldplay

Coldplay is my all-time favorite band, so for me, a playlist that does not include any of its songs is an abomination, not a playlist. I may be biased, but it’s still a fact that Coldplay makes amazing music. Come to think of it, if a melody by the infamous band features the queen of pop, Beyoncé herself, wouldn’t the song be epic?  So, if you want your road trip to be this epic, you can’t go wrong with this song.

A lot of us grew up listening to Linkin’ Park. Can we ever get over their blasting yet rhythmic rock songs that got us through our rebellious teenage years?  Your playlist needs to have a number of songs by Chester Bennington for your trip to be memorable. Battle Symphony will get you in a reflective mood, and make your adventure more meaningful.

The first time I heard this song I was sitting in a car while watching the sun go down, and I instantly fell in love with it. This soulful track, I believe, would be wonderful to listen to if you’re driving straight into the sunset. Its relaxing beat just makes you want to leave all your worries behind, and look forward to new beginnings, coinciding with the vibes of a nice road trip.

Uptown Funk – Mark Ronson Featuring Bruno Mars

If you get your spirits down during the trip, this classic song can pump you up like no other. You’ll start jamming and jiving in no time, singing along loudly until your lungs start to hurt.

Californication – Red Hot Chili Peppers

The band has given us hits like Universally Speaking, Around The World, among many others. With so many great songs to choose from it’s almost impossible to pick one favorite track.  But if I had to choose, Californication seems like the perfect travel song out of all. I mean, even the music video is all about driving.

Ik Junoon –  Zindagi Na Milay Gi Dobara

This upbeat song is just the thing for long journeys. If you feel like singing along to a song and just vibe with your friends, nothing will make it better than this symphony. Like its lyrics “take on the world and paint it red…”, the song actually makes you want to take on the world.

Hum Jo Chalne lagay – Jab we met

A long journey demands the existence of soothing songs, and this track from the movie Jab we met has just the vibe to keep your spirits elevated. The song is about two people coming closer as they travel together. So, if you are traveling with your special someone this song is perfect to make great memories with.

Yun Hi Chala Chal Rahi – Swades

This song is a splendid blend of excitement and life’s philosophy. It kind of gets you in the headspace to explore new places and meet new people, which is exactly what you need on a road trip. In my opinion, it is one of the best travel songs to listen to when cruising around solo.

Hum Kis Gali Ja Rae Hein – Atif Aslam

As a Pakistani, listening to any song by Atif Aslam makes me so nostalgic as most of us grew up listening to him. I believe the song fully embodies the careless vibe of a road trip, without a destination in mind you’re just enjoying what’s right there not waiting for what’s coming ahead.

Purani Jeans Aur Guitar – Ali Haider

This evergreen song is bound to make you sentimental as its lyrics take you back to your college days. Especially when you are traveling with your pals, it’s perfect for the time when your journey is coming to an end and you feel like cherishing those last moments.
